Kim Duff, Founder
Local breast cancer survivor Kim Duff is the founder of KD’s Hope and has partnered with the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation’s Women’s Center Fund to assist women in need who are battling breast cancer. Through KD’s Hope, an initiative to assist women facing breast cancer, Duff joins her family and friends to conduct several events each year to raise money and create awareness.
In 2013 the group sold Mule Day T-shirts and hats that included a breast cancer awareness message and held a pre-Mule Day party at the Columbia Elks Lodge featuring the band “Foster Party of Eight.” In addition, Truelove’s Pizza & Grits donated a percentage of all sales to KD’s Hope every Wednesday during the month of March and Mule Town Records donated a portion of proceeds from an annual Mule Day concert to the cause. Together, these events raised more than $5,200 for the Women’s Center Fund.
The Women’s Center Fund was established to address the needs of women who are battling and recovering from cancer. The fund provides cancer patients with wigs, various headpieces, lymphedema garments, gas cards and camisoles during their medical treatment. The fund also provides mammograms for patients who cannot afford one on their own.
